Building on a long experience in CSR & Human Rights

“I decided to use my extensive experience in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility and human rights as a consultant to provide services to companies and their stakeholders. I can help them understand the positive impact of respecting human rights and implement the UN Guiding Principles for business and human rights (UNGP). My background as a human rights lawyer and practical field experience contributes to the value I can add for my clients.

I’ve had assignments in UN organizations, multinationals, smaller companies, NGOs and governments. I am able to speak the language of different parties to facilitate dialogue between them. As a consultant I understand the concerns of NGOs and can interpret these for the business world. I advise NGOs, UN organisations and governments on how they can best engage with business. I develop tools, and methodologies, and carry out impact and risk assessments.”

Human Rights Consultancy on a personal level

human rights consultancy personal level

We give advice by combining extensive experience in corporate responsibility, in-depth knowledge of human rights, offering tailored solutions and engaging and connecting the involved parties, always through a pragmatic approach.

Our clients include multinationals, UN organisations, NGOs and governments. As respect for human rights requires the involvement of all these parties, HR@W is in a unique position to bring relevant parties together, by facilitating dialogue among stakeholders, as well as cooperating on specific projects at country level.

With CORE, I renew an partnership to leverage the experience of six senior business and human rights experts, combining our deep subject-matter expertise and fostering a people-centered approach. We combine our forces to offer a wider range of services and achieve more impact for people.

Together we offer tailored tools and human rights risk management services for leading European companies.  I also work with a network of specialists, both in the Netherlands and abroad, who are able to contribute to larger projects.

Together we assist companies in assessing risks, not causing any harm to individuals, and creating positive impact for people in their operations, supply chains or communities, by respecting their rights. We also work with and for NGOs and governments that are using the due diligence framework for human rights to engage with companies.

I am writing to highly recommend Liesbeth for her exceptional expertise and professionalism as a human rights expert. Liesbeth has a proven track record of providing invaluable consultation and services to businesses in the area of human rights risk management. We had the pleasure of working with her during our first human rights risk analysis for our own operations, and her contributions were instrumental to our success.

Liesbeth supported us in conducting a human rights risk analysis for our own operations that allowed us to determine which topics and countries should be the focus of our further efforts in human rights implementation. Her work involved mapping rights-holders, countries, and risks; assessing inherent risks related to both sectors and countries; evaluating our own risks and prioritizing them accordingly; and identifying gaps in our management of these identified risks.

Initially, we were concerned about the complexity of the task, as this was our first human rights risk analysis for our own operations, and our operations are geographically widespread. However, Liesbeth’s extensive experience and deep understanding of human rights risk management quickly put us at ease. She demonstrated an exceptional ability to distil complex issues into a practical and effective framework, enabling us to confidently navigate the process and achieve our objectives.

What I most valued in working with Liesbeth was her strong expertise and professionalism. She brought a wealth of practical knowledge from her previous experiences and was able to pinpoint the critical issues and challenges we needed to address. Furthermore, her ability to maintain an overview of the entire process while delivering both professional and practical results within the set timeline was impressive. Liesbeth was always willing to answer questions, provide clarity, and adjust the program to meet our specific needs, making the collaboration both smooth and effective.

The deliverables from Liesbeth’s work were outstanding. With the structure she helped define, we successfully completed our first human rights risk analysis for our own operations. The results not only provided us with the necessary information for reporting but also established a framework and valuable experience for future risk analyses. Additionally, the process enhanced our internal capacity for human rights risk analysis, which will be beneficial for our ongoing and future efforts.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend Liesbeth to any organization seeking an expert in human rights risk management. Her professionalism, expertise, and ability to deliver high-quality results in complex situations make her an invaluable asset.
